Benches and reclaiming wood

| |
Just because school is back in session for many people, it doesnt mean summer is over! Plenty of time to make outdoor projects. Heres a great bench Berry Conway built out of red cedar, using plans from my friends over at Wood Magazine.

Jason P. made this version of my purple garden bench with help from his 6-year-old son. All made with 2x4s and landscape timbers for the legs.

Not a garden bench, but heres a beautiful work bench Butch Rupright made using some reclaimed wood from an interesting source: a bowling alley. Thats a hard maple top. Nice.

And while we are talking about reclaimed wood Eric Rusch used this old lumber...
...to make this! Woodworking never has to be expensive.

Gary Finger used pallet wood to make a version of my rustic wine rack. Since he is not a wine drinker, he enlarged it a bit and made it into a display shelf.
