There are several "hand-tool-only" woodworkers creating videos, but Chriss videos are something special to watch: they are well-paced and never dull. While most of us will probably not become hand-tool purists, we can marvel at his techniques and approach to woodworking. No boring step-by-step instruction here but rather inspiration for everyone, even if you are not a woodworker at all.
In Chriss latest video, he makes a dog sled. He needs to bend the wood, so what does he do first? He makes a steam bender out of a log of course!

These are not weekend projects: it takes Chris time to build each project so its always exciting when a new video pops up in my YouTube feed. He has an amazing ability to pare down all this woodworking into very approachable videos that are about seven minutes long. Another good example is his most-viewed video, a foot powered lathe.

John Heisz is one of the most prolific woodworkers on YouTube. Over 55,000 subscribers enjoy watching him build projects for the shop every week. Homemade tools, machines and jigs that will make you think twice about store-bought versions. Table saw sled, box joint jig, dowel making jig, clamps...the list goes on!
John has free plans for on his web site as well as reasonably priced plans for his more complex builds. Check out his web site: ibuildit.ca.
Visit Johns YouTube channel and subscribe here. Browse through his extensive list videos and get inspired. Ive included his shop-built wooden vise here. The first video gives you an overview of the project, and the second one digs into the build. Its a beautiful piece.

Izzy Swan began creating woodworking videos just a few months ago but is rapidly gaining a strong following. His focus is on building shop projects, jigs and creating all sorts of innovative homemade tools. Definitely a great channel for those of you who love to tinker in your shops and want to save money on tools.

I picked out a couple of videos to give you a sampling of Izzys work. In the first one, he makes a bowling ball (wait, what?) on a table saw. Obviously this is something very few of us will ever try, but its fascinating to watch!

Second, here is a fantastic tool he designed for disassembling pallets that he calls The Pallet Pal. Definitely looks like a great way to take them apart. If youd like to download plans, he sells them for $2.95.

YouTube woodworkers Adam Collins

15-year-old Adam Collins, from Ireland, has been woodworking for just a few years and I continue to find inspiration from his ingenuity and enthusiasm. His projects demonstrate just what can be accomplished with very few resources and a lot of imagination.
Definitely check out his homemade table saw, and router table below. Other videos you will want to watch are his homemade hand plane and workbench made with just hand tools.
